The hard drive was from a dead laptop. I was going to use it on another laptop to make backups but it wont fit unless I can get the bracket off.They're screwed in way too tightly than needed. The head of the screw is stripped trying to get it out.
This happens a lot and I usually carefully bend and twist the carrier to it until the hole is big enough to free the carrier from the screw. Then you should be able to turn the screw using pliers.
