Worth getting EVGA 980 ti hybrid to avoid coil whine?

After deciding whether or not I should wait for the Pascal GPU's or buy the 980 TI, I've decided to buy the 980 TI. I made the decision b/c I've never had a dedicated graphics card, only integrated. I can't wait anymore to play games like Witcher III and Fallout 4 which are gathering dust in my steam library. With that in mind, I've been looking at which brand 980 ti would be best to go in my build. I'm deciding between:

1. MSI GTX 980 TI Gaming 6G
2. Gigabyte GTX 980 TI G1 Gaming
3. EVGA GTX 980 TI Hybrid

Right now, it's really a debate of the first two vs. the EVGA. I've heard great things about all three of them. My main concern comes from the coil whine complains I've heard from the MSI and Gigabyte cards (especially the Gigabyte one). Thus, I've looked towards the EVGA hybrid as a way to get around the coil whine. I also realize that the EVGA uses a reference PCP and has slightly slower clock speeds. I was wondering if it would be worth it to pay the extra money to get the EVGA to avoid the coil whine, or hope that I get lucky in the silicone lottery and get an MSI/Gigabyte GTX 980 TI. If the latter, MSI or Gigabyte? Thanks.

Well the hybrid is more expensive because it runs cooler, as it has an included radiator and AIO water cooler.

However on any of these cards there is always a chance you'll get coil whine. Yes there are complaints of coil whine on MSI and Gigabyte cards, but there are also complaints on EVGA cards. It's always going to be up to you're luck. Although alot of people still complain of coil whine there is many more that don't get any coil whine. People don't complain about it unless they have it.
However it's odd that you say Gigabyte have the most, the G1 gaming is their custom PCB and selective GPU core. I would say the Gigabyte one is one of the best 980ti's that are aircooled.

So out of those I would go the Gigabyte for an air cooled...

The EVGA hybrid is only worth it if you like it's look, want to have a quieter card with lower temps, and have the money to spend.

Also another thing is, some brands actually accept RMA (returns) on cards that have coil whine. Also to note some cards coil whine is very very quiet or only start when pushing a very high framerate, So from there it's personal preference.

So baseline: there is always a chance of coil whine, but your chances of getting coil whine in my experience: is lower than to get one without whine. Just choose the card you like the best.
COIL WHINE IS ALWAYS UP TO PERSONAL PREFERENCE OF NOISE, and any card will produce coil whine at high frame rates on certain engines.

-good luck
