Right now I have an Alienware X-51 R2

i5 4430 3.00
GTX 760
8 GB

Wanting to see a decent price on building my first gaming PC that would be worth it over what I have now

Solution
Good choice. 760 is still a good card for 1080p, and if you can save up some money for later you can go for a 1440p system or even higher.

We have to know how much you are willing to spend on your new rig.

But keep in mind, your current Alienware is still a decent 1080p machine. To achieve noticeably better performance with a new PC, you would have to get at least a GTX 970 for the GPU. The i5 + 8Gb in that Alienware is what i would recommend for a sweetspot gaming system, but you can't really upgrade the GPU any further in that system, so a new system would have to happen.

Cool thank you!

Well, I am happy with this I guess. Maybe wait and build one next year or later. I wanted to sell this for $600 or so, then build my own for around $800.

My buddy has an i7 and GTX 970 and honestly I cannot notice a difference in performance compared to mine.
