Vista won't recognize graphics card after factory reinstall

Hi:

I recently did a factory reinstall of Vista. The computer doesn't recognize my Nvidia graphics card, which had been working fine before the reinstall. I tried downloading the drivers, but I get an error message of something like Internet Explorer cannot find the web site. I know some of the information I'm providing is vague, but I thought I would toss this out as a potentially easy problem, with a potentially easy solution.

Vista has IE7 i think, which is unsupported, so you gotta update to IE9 or use Firefox or some other stuff, which you have to download using IE7.... um..... or use another computer.

i spent a week updating a fresh install of Vista, including fixing the updater itself.
