How do I improve my graphics card temperature?

I would like to know certain things on the temperature of my graphics card.

Here's my current setup:

CPU: Intel i7 4790k
GPU: EVGA GTX 970
Case: NZXT H440 (This case is horrible in terms of heat)

For cooling, I have 3 stock 120mm intake fans in the front of the case, and 1 stock 140mm outake fan in the back of the case. I've also got 2 140mm outake fans on the top of the case for my NZXT Kraken X61.

1. I would like to know how the CAM software measures the temperature of my graphics card as this is how I am currently viewing the temperature of my graphics card.

When the graphics card has 50% load, on average it is around 70 degrees. When idling, it is usually around 30 degrees.

2. I would like to know if this is a safe temperature for my graphics card, and how much hotter can it get until it becomes dangerous for the card. Currently I am hesitant when increasing graphical settings in games and playing more graphic intensive games.

3. I would like to know how to improve the temperature of the graphics card nonetheless. Should I invest in after market fans? etc.

Thanks in advance.

Solution
70c is about 10 degrees cooler than the GTX 970s target operating temperature. You have zero problems with your temperatures. It is essential for you to get familiar with how Turbo Boost works in order to understand how your GPU is designed to seek out and maintain a preset and adjustable temperature limit as part of its normal operation. For the GTX 970 that temperature is 80c.

With that, if you still feel a need to arbitrarily seek out an even lower temperature, you are limited to: 1) adding more case fans, 2) taking off the heatsink and reapplying thermal paste to the GPU.
