How can I hide the files on my SD card when it's connected to a PC, but have the card be usable outside of the PC? I apologize if that doesn't make much sense, but essentially I don't want the card encrypted because I wouldn't be able to use it on my camera. Is there a way to make the files on the SD card permenant, and not be allowed to be copied or moved off the SD card and put onto a hard drive? Something like write-protected but something more secure like if it gets stolen, and the card could still be written ONTO by my camera.

It is the exact OPPOSITE of this guys' question: http://www.tomsguide.com/answers/id-1924125/view-files-card.html

Thanks

Hey there, Gaz___.

You can always mark them as "hidden" but depending on the Folder Setting of the OS of the computer, you connect the card to, they might be visible. Anyway, without write-protection they might be overwritten by your camera as well. I'd advise you to backup your photos to a secure location (e.g. cloud service, encrypted drive, etc), so that you don't have to worry about them. Keeping everything on your memory card is definitely 100% not a good idea. USB flash drives and memory cards are far from a reliable backup/storage location.

Hope that helps.
