This is our home's current PC. It is mainly used for surfing the web, and it also plays Minecraft quite well on low settings. I'm just curious as to how long it will be until this computer is essentially too slow to use for things like browsing internet, etc. THANKS!! :) Here are the specs.

CPU: AMD Athlon 64 3500+
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce 7300 LE
RAM: 2.0GB of DDR2 RAM
OS: Windows XP Professional SP3

What constitutes "unusably slow" is sort of subjective. But considering that you have a single core, 2.2 GHz CPU that's nearly 12 years old... I'd say pretty soon. By many people's standards it probably already is.

Why do you ask? If you're satisfied with your current performance, great! When the day comes when you're no longer satisfied, then get a new PC.

agree with TJ it's all relative to the user's experience. personally I would find using that computer unbearable, but my experience is on cutting edge tech. ~$500 would replace that tower with something much, much faster which would last another 10 years (assuming you're just as tolerant of slowdown as you are now).
