I have recently purchased an AMD Radeon R9 270, but my monitor says "no input" no matter what I try with it. The current card is a AMD Radeon HD 5450 that works perfectly fine. Also, when I shut the pc back down after seeing that the monitor still won't get signal, it shuts down almost immediately where as it normally takes a few seconds when shutting down during it's boot up.

These are the specs of my pc in case it matters:
Processor - AMD Phenom 8400 Triple-Core Processor 2.10GHz
Motherboard - ECS GeForce 8000 series
PSU - EVGA 600w (also made sure it has more than enough on the +12V rail than the AMD Radeon R9 270 requires)

Things I have found online or thought of that I have tried:
-Used DDU to uninstall old card's driver(new card still no input, old card works and re-installs it's driver automatically after windows boots up)
-Disabled old card's driver and started pc with new card installed
-Made sure PSU is connected to new card
-Made sure card is firmly in PCI-E slot
-Checked BIOS settings(there was no options other than booting in different modes)

Any ideas on what the issue is?

Checked that. My current motherboard is supposedly equipped for UEFI. But that's based on my searches on my motherboard. This pc was given to me by a guy who built it. It's a modern gaming motherboard from what I have found. The searches I've done say this motherboard is only as old as 2008. That shouldn't be too old to handle this new card. Right?

go to the manufacturer's website and update your motherboard's bios

also are you using an adapter to hook up the monitor to the gpu?

if someone sold you a system with a Phenom X3 8400 as a "gaming" setup

well... they lied to you and you need to take it back

The info I gathered from multiple websites claim ECS motherboards are designed to handle gaming, not exactly designed for pure gaming, but still capable. Also, I already said I checked into BIOS, that's a dead end. I tried googling my motherboard and checking the manufacturer site but it says there are many ECS GeForce 8000 series motherboards from them. I have no way of knowing which type I have. I tried programs that tell my info about my specs, they all say the same thing "ECS GeForce 8000 series". They won't tell me the specific one I have. I'm using the exact same HDMI cord I use for my current graphics card. Should work for both, right? Otherwise why does the new card even have a port for HDMI?

Found it and updated BIOS, still no difference. I checked on a site that checks pc parts compatibility and it claims my motherboard and new card are compatible.

do you have windows 8?

you might need to disable secure boot in the bios
