Hey guys,

So I recently purchased another 970 and tossed it in my computer. After setting up SLI, I noticed that my games weren't getting the FPS they should and the GPU load was quite high. An example would be League of Legends. First card at about 99% and the second between 50-60% (GPU Usage) Cards run at about 55C during this time, CPU at about 25% @40C. So, average FPS might be 120 (Avg. 300 with one card), but it seems to stutter. This only happened once I SLI'd, so I'm trying to see what the problem might be. Other games, (The Division, Fallout 4, etc) will give me the same GPU usage and roughly low FPS. Any help is greatly appreciated. Specs are below:

i7-4790K @4GHz
Corsair Vengence DDR3 16GBx2400MHz
2x MSI GTX 970 SLI
ASUS Z97-A
Corsair HX1050W PSU

Hi,

SLI improves fps on some games better than others, also depending on how many monitor's and how many Hz those monitor's run at will determine the fps outcome. Make sure all drivers and BIOS are up to date.

Try to enable SLI in Nvidia Control Panel - http://www.computerhope.com/issues/ch001167.htm
Set Power Managment Mode to: Prefer maximum perfomance (Nvidia Control Panel)
As the last option uninstall Nvidia Drivers and install them again using DDU tool - http://www.guru3d.com/files-details/display-driver-uninstaller-download.html

Let me know if this helped.

As Master mentioned, some games are optimized and scale much better then others. For example BF4 handles SLI optimization very well, where as ROTR or Division dont. I double my framerates in BF4 in SLI, whereas ROTR and Division barely show much improvement maybe 10%.

Master gave you great advice if you still feel its underperforming. I would personally run DDU anyways and do a fresh install of drivers if you didnt do that to begin with. I noticed when I first went SLI alot of software failed to recognize the changes until I reinstalled GPU drivers.
