Hi Guys!

I just got GTA 5 for PC and expected stable 60FPS.
I have maxed out all settings except MSAA which is x2 and the advanced settings which are turned off.
But all I get is 58FPS max and several framedrops when making quick moves. The worst part is when I drive around in areas with much grass and trees where I achieve as low as 42 FPS.
Is this normal? I see many other people getting stable 60FPS or more with the same specs as I.
How can I fix it?

BTW, my GPU is running at 1442mhz steady.

Solution
I don't have a system as powerful as yours but I fixed my GTA 5 lag issues by putting at least 4GB pagefile into my SSD. I have it on 8GB now and it helps with a lot of other games such as Just Cause 3. These games will still require you to have a large page file even if you have enough RAM

No actually, I utilize only 2. something GB of VRAM. I don't reach over 3 GB.

you should mostly run high settings with some very high

turn down grass to normal

texture quality you can leave very high

turn off reflection MSAA

use sweetfx

But how can others run maxed out and still get 60FPS?

did you actually see fps comparisons with systems similar to yours?

youtube videos are terrible for this, because a lot of them are tampered with using different settings and just lying about their specs
