It looks like you want to overclock based on motherboard and cooler, if yes you need a 6700k not 6700. Apart from that it looks good

Honestly based on his specs I think he should just not bother overclocking and getting the 6700. It's a great processor, and he'll save a good 40, 50, or 60 dollars on the CPU, plus the $$ saved on the cooler.

I agree that the i7 6700 is great. He could save well over $200 by scrapping the overclocking setup.

the K module might be a better choice, even if you won't overclock now you might want to later on (especially with your cooling setup). A non-Acer monitor might be a better choice as well, while it looks nice on paper, generally Acer products lack a little in build quality.

For the price of the 6700k + Asus ROG, one could have an i7 5820k + X99.

Of course the OP didn't say what his intentions were and didn't seem to want to debate parts anyway.

Sure X99 motherboards are expensive but he chose a $282 Z170 so he could easily spend less on a still great X99 like the $239 X99-A for example.

Very true. IMO the 6700k is pretty overpriced, that's why I chose the 4790k for my rig. But yes, now that you say that, it would make sense for him to go X99, unless he's willing to spend a lot for a newer motherboard with a better chipset, and the best possible gaming performance, with the sacrifice being worse performance in applications that use more than 4 cores / 8 threads.

OP I hope you're reading this, this is important information in deciding which platform to buy.
