I have been pushing away the upgradation of my graphics card for quite a while, because I was secretly wishing that the price of the GTX 970 would drop a little. The card that I wish to buy is GTX 970, but the thing is whichever graphics card I'm going to buy, I probably won't be able to use it after two years owing to a lot of miscellaneous reasons including a lot of travelling and staying in different countries.
My current rig is:
RAM: 8 Gb Kingston HyperXfury Ram (x2)
CPU: Intel i7 4790k
PSU: 600 Watts power supply cooler master
GPU: 650 GTX 1GB
HDD: 1.5TB HDD
MOBO: Gigabyte Z97m-D3H
Now, in my country, the 970 costs roughly around $430 which I find a bit expensive. Currently I can play latest games in low settings with 20 fps, which I think is pretty great given the fact that I have a shit GPU installed. However I'm, open to all kinds of suggestions regarding any GPU that will allow me to play games on High-Ultra and 970 being the upper limit. The reason why I am saying all this is because GPUs have a longer life-span and the thought that I won't be able to utilize the life-span of a 970 completely after two years breaks my heart. So, I want to know what my ideal GPU should be, suited for my purpose.
