Hi all

I've just installed a new SSD and clean installed windows 7 on it. Load up/shut down times are amazing.

Would like to know the best way to transfer my HDD software onto my new SSD.
Currently creating a back up of HDD (taking a while) would I restore this on my new SSD?
OR would I need to install each of my software from scratch (change installation directory) onto the new SSD?

Thanks

You would need to re-install your applications from scratch, regardless of which drive (HDD or SSD) you install them to.

The existing application installations on the HDD won't run on your new Windows installation since all the support files and registry entries are missing.

The only existing data that's still valid on the HDD is your own data (eg pictures, videos, documents etc).
