Hi, I have a i5 2500k with a hyper 212 evo, a Asus P8P67, a Sapphire HD 7950, a Enthoo Pro M Acrylic with both stock fans, a WD Blue HDD and a EVGA 750W PSU. I want to know how I can make my PC quieter. There are quite a bit of fans in it so that is why there is some noise going on as well as my hard drive spinning which causes some noise as well. What are some things I can do to remove sound?

I/O shields are thin sheet metal, I don't think it would really make a great deal of difference. As smorizio said, you can buy rubber hard drive mounts which decouples the drive from the chassis, reducing vibrations and noise.

To put drives asleep go to: control panel>power options>plan settings>change advance power settings>scroll to "hard drive" and expand. Default time is 20 minutes for the drive to go to sleep but you can set it to your own preference.

That kit looks pretty cool man but it is a bit too pricey, one thing tho, I bought my motherboard used so it did not come with a I/O shield so there is just a hole where it should be. Could adding a I/O help reduce noise? Also I have noticed that most of the noise comes from my hard drive, is there any way I can turn off my hard drive when not in use? I use my hard drive only for games so when i am browsing the web i use my SSD.
