Here is my specs:
Asus H170 Pro Gaming
Intel Core i5 6500
Corsair vengeance 1x8GB 2400 MHz RAM
GTX 960 4GB
corsair cs 550m

Since i accidental brought a 2400 MHz instead of 2133 MHz RAM ,i don't want to waste the horsepower of the RAM therefore i looked into the BIOS and i saw the xmp profile at 2666 MHz and 2400 MHz in the BIOS ,i activated the XMP profile for 2400 MHz and restarted my system .unfortunately after booting in to my system i still see the RAM frequency sitting at 2133 Mhz .

The XMP profile is on the Ram stick, not the chipset. Your CPU and your Mobo only support up to ddr4 2133. But the ram you bought can be used in another system that would support 2400.

Then what is the reason for the motherboard manufacturer to provide a 2400 Mhz xmp profile in BIOS?is the timings or the latencies reduced atleast?by the way my motherboard is h170 pro gaming not h170 pro.here is my motherboard link https://www.asus.com/in/Motherboards/H170-PRO-GAMING/

can't get you ...what is the purpose of 2400 Mhz XMP on a chipset that supports only 2133 Mhz?

my RAM is running only at 1064 Mhz ,my question is what is the reason for Asus to put a xmp that does not fit with the chipset ?also if i put an another 2133 Mhz RAM will this affect dual channel functionality?

I answered your XMP question above. But again, Asus does not provide the XMP profile. It is on the ram stick, made by corsair. Secondly, since you only have one ram stick, you are running single channel at the monent. If you want to run dual channel buy another ram stick that is exactly like the one you currently have. It is not recommended to mix speeds or brands.
