Proper way to add more hard disk

I have a desktop with Windows 7 OS that I recently bought and

Now

my question is I have an old HDD from my old desktop but the problem is there's also a windows 7 installed there too. How do I properly install the HDD into my new one? My HDD uses SATA cables

My MoBo is ECS H81H3-M4

Actually there is one important step that jsmithepa skipped over. When you attach your old drive, you need to go in to the BIOS and check which drive is selected as the boot one.
So to sum it up.
Turn off both PC's and remove the power cords (as some are set to go to a low power state, but remain partially on)
Remove the HD you want to move over to your new PC.
Mount it in your new PC.
reattach the power cord, boot in to bios and make sure your boot sequence did not change (it should not, but can if your new PC happens to have the boot disk in, for example SATA2 and you happen to put the old disk on SATA1)
Then boot in to windows.
Move over any data you want to backup, saved game files, photos, office documents, internet favorites...

Hook up old HD on the next SATA slot, nothing needs configuring 'coz ur probably already booting from SATA0.

The old HD will automatically mount itself using the next available drive letter. If you don't need to save anything there, you simple re-partition and format.
