I have always used amd products and always used stocked coolers which worked perfect for me. So did this one that I have now had for not sure 4 years or so. It worked great never any problems.

Lately I had 2 occurrence of a very loud fan originally I thought graphics card so I got HW monitor and checked and I notice my cpu fan jumped up to 6000rpm but my temp was only at 101F 39C which is not hot. Cannot think of what could cause that bios and everything is fine. Any suggestions?

Solution
The CPU fan as mentioned is controlled by the MB when the respective BIOS option is selected.
Have you done anything at all in the PC, even taking things out and placing them back in?
When did the sudden peaks to top fan speed happen?

i wasn't really doing anything special and was using 2 different programs when it happened the most recent was a badly optimized game. I have not done anything to bios or inside the case as that would have been obvious as to what it was.

it happened again while playing wwe 2k15 not on max settings cpu got to 45C which is 115F I do not think that is hot for this cpu has the motherboard minimum is 68C before shutting down. the fan went to 6200rpm eventually slowed back down to 5400rpm though still seems high.
I have it has fanin0 should I hook it up to fanin1 although it has always been in 0?

still no answer huh? it did the same thing today playing insurgency for about an hour its not very warm in my house at all maybe 60 i am wearing blanket and i had the insurgency settings at about 75% 1680x1050 everything on high but shadows turn off or as low as can go aa at X2. The game did not do that before and is not that demanding.

had the problem again tried to update bios that is up to date. Is it possible something is going out? there is some kind of fan test in bios think i should try running that? or change settings in cool and quiet to quiet instead of cool? or should i not worry about it? Temps are still pretty dang low its just the fan goes nuts.
