I'm having a lot of trouble with a new video card I ordered a couple of months ago. After I remove all the drivers of the old one, remove it, plug the new card in along with its power and make sure it's seated properly, when I turn on the computer after plugging in the DVI-D ( or HDMI ), nothing shows up.
The Card is an EVGA Geforce GTX 960, and my computer is a Dell XPS 8700 and the specs are as follows:
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-4790 CPU @ 3.60GHz, 3601 Mhz, 4 Core(s), 8 Logical Processor(s)
16 GB DDR3 RAM
Video Card: GTX 745 ( original card )
TR2 600W Thermaltake PSU
I've installed another card into the computer to ensure that it works, an XFX Radeon HD 6850 and it displays and runs, even after I contacted Dell and they told me that card wasn't compatible. Even if it is and works. I've plugged the GTX 960 into another much older computer and it displayed and ran on there, but in this computer the fans spin for a few seconds then stop and won't display anything.
