Hi

So I just built my new PC and I've had it for about a week now and I have a Samsung 850 EVO 250gb SSD and a WD BLUE 1tb. All my downloads have been going to my SSD and I dont want them to. I looked into it and a lot of people say theres an option that pops before you download something that will let you decide where you want it to go. Well I have only experienced this once when I was downloading CS:GO besides that never. Please help thanks

NOTE: OS on SSD

Those guides are to change the Library locations if desired.

For downloads in Google Chrome?

How do I select my hard drive???

yes, it works or i wouldn't bother doing it myself. how about trying these options and seeing which resolution you prefer?

changing the library location would point that specific browser to a specific folder for downloads. but would change nothing else pertaining to other browsers or Windows.
my method provided changes Windows default download location so all future downloads, no matter where they originate, would go to a specific folder.

create a "Download"(or whatever name you prefer) folder on your HD storage drive. copy it's path. insert in the "Location"(pointed to earlier) tab's space.

1. It changes the default Save location for Doc/Music/Video
2. Yes. Just like #1.

changing location wont do anything other than make your downloads go there

yes his method will work perfectly well

Oh, you have hosed things up. Badly.
You should have pointed that to a folder, not the root of the D.

I havent done anything permanent yet

its no sweat just make a folder on D called my download files or whatever redo it and select that folder--it will probably even ask if you want to move all previous downloads to there

wait so tell me if this is what I should do FileExplorer>ThisPC>Hardrive(D:)> then make a folder and put in the hardrive?

Its a subfolder in my D drive is that right? Then I go to Downloads>Properties>Location>Move>D drive> Mydownloads folder

yes--and it may even offer to move previously downloaded stuff to that folder for you

if not just copy and paste the other downloads there so everything is in one place then

It does offer me the option but I don't want to do it because I have games on the SSD that I want to keep on, is it okay if I press no?

Ok, Im asking because all my downloads have saved to the SSD (including stuff in the Downloads folder) so if it copies everything off the SSD to my HDD my games will be there too

its fine if you say no

unless the games depend on stuff you downloaded to run it wouldnt matter any way

If I say yes will my games stay on the SSD
