I updated my PC, a small one to the best of my knowledge (still running windows 8.1) and after the restart all my desktop files are gone, the folders were left but with nothing left in them.
I ran AVG antivirus, made sure the icons weren't hidden and restarted a few times, but the files simply aren't there, I looked for them in windows explorer and they still didn't show up.
All my programmes are still there, and all my steam games & music.
Please help, there were some files that I'd rather not lose... anything would be appreciated,
