Hi all,
I have a ASrock 890fx extreme5 that will not start. Running an FX-8350. The CMOS light on the back stays on and I am getting a 5A error on the motherboard - looking it up in the manual = "internal CPU error." This is a system that had been working fine for years but right before it stopped running would "freeze" or just shut down if worked hard. Figured it was a heat issue so I waited a bit and it would start (until the last time it wouldn't.)
BIOS is latest version. I cleaned out all the fans & power supply with compressed air.
Things I have tried:
Any help on what to do next? Any idea why the CMOS light on the back stays lit?
Any help greatly appreciated,
Rob
PS - there is a part of me thinking that I somehow reset the BIOS to factory default and that it would not recognize the 8350. Any way to verify? I do not have a phenom to test.

Things I have tried:
new water cooler (old one had a ton of dust) - cleaned out the old water cooler and problem remained. Bought a new one and problem remained.
new fx-8350 that I had as a spare for a different PC (new in box). Tried the fan that came with the CPU - still not working.
swapping out memory - no help.
makes no noise - no POST tone.
swapped out video with different "known good" video card - no help.
