how to overclock a dual bios amd graphic card

hi, first of all i would like to apologize if this is a stupid question, i have never overclocked anything before in my life

does overclocking a graphic card using amd overdrive or msi afterburner save the new overclock settings on the graphic card bios ?

let me explain more: i have a dual bios amd graphic card, if while i am on bios 2 i overclocked the card using amd overdrive or msi afterburner, will changing the bios back to 1 restore the default settings ?

if not then what method can i use to overclock the card on bios 2 only so that i can switch back to default settings by changing the bios back to 1 ?

also which is better for overclocking amd graphic card, amd overdrive or msi afterburner ?

don't hesitate to ask for further information if needed

What dual bios is and how it works is different from what you might think, if I'm not mistaken, dual bios just means there are 2 bios chips on the mobo, this helps with overclocking because when you change stuff and boot up your computer, normally it would not boot or it may have an issue, without dual bios you would ha e to cmos reset the bios.
With dual bios it will boot off the previous bios that was not changed, bios 1 and revert back to the normal settings, this makes it so you are not forced to cmos reset everything. And it makes it much easier to fondle with overclocking.

Do not overclock your gpu if you have not researched how to as this can cause irreversible damage.

Using msi afterburner or amd will keep the gpu setti ng s overclocked as long as tou have it set to start on boot, and apply overclock settings on boot.

Also the bios is the setti ng s saved to the motherboard, ram and cpu. You do not alter gpu settings here unless it's a specific card and mobo that you can. Generally gpu are stand alone and are optional, therefore tou cant make changes to the bios. other then changing mobo voltages.

Msi afterburner is great because there is alot to work with, amd overdrive is generic and not really in depth, so I would reccomended afterburner

mmm... let me clear things abit more, i am talking about graphic card dual bios not motherboard dual bios
what u explained is motherboard dual bios, if u mess things up on the 1st bios then the 2nd bios will recover the 1st bios so u don't have to cmos reset the bios as u said
but what i am talking about is graphic card dual bios, its a graphic card which have little button that u can click to switch bios, bios 1 is the default factory settings, bios 2 is used to overclock, if u mess things up on bios 2 then u can always click the button and u r back on default without any problems or even if u didn't mess anything up and if everything goes as planned and u successfully overclock your gpu, then u will have a bios with default factory settings and a bios overclocked so that u can switch between them as u like with a click of a button which is what i am trying to achieve, i want to be able to switch between default factory settings and overclocked settings by simply clicking that button

so what i am asking is, if i successfully overclock my gpu using msi afterburner and set it to start overclock settings on boot then i clicked the button to switch the bios, will it still boot with the overclock settings or will it boot on default settings ? (does setting msi afterburner to start overclock settings on boot save these settings on the graphic card bios or not ?)
if setting msi afterburner to start overclock settings on boot will make it boot overclocked no matter what bios i am on then what method can i use to overclock only 1 bios ?

sorry if i sound noob but as i said, i am new to these stuff

how can i know if its dual bios or dual uefi ? (not really sure what is dual uefi)

What is your exact card, manufactor, and make.

And dual bios on the gpu just means it has 2 clocks, the first bios setti g is clock 1, the second is clock 2, changing the second will not change the first, if you revert to 1 it will change the clocks to what you have set for 1.

that's exactly what i meant by dual bios

any way its:
AMD Radeon 7970 GHz Edition
its the original card from ati not manufactured by any other company

i just checked with gpu-z and i can confirm that this graphic card doesn't have uefi bios so i guess its legacy bios
