I have a Lenovo K430 31092FU with an i5 2320 3.0 processor and 12G of ram (all factory installed). I just upgraded to a 600 watt power supply and would like to update the graphics card as well but not sure what is the best I can update to with mentioned hardware. help would be appreciated. Thanks!

What's your budget and what power supply did you get?

I'd recommend that you get a Radeon R9 380. You can get one from XFX for $190, however I went with the MSI Gaming 4G version for $220 because I haven't had a great experience with XFX in the past. At the $200 price range, the 380 is the best you can get.

Cool. This would be at the high end of my budget, no prob, but what would you recommend in the ~$100 range... I'm sure anything I purchase today would be better than the 2012 radeon hd 7450 that came factory installed :)
Thanks!

When buying in the $100 range you'll only be hurting yourself in the long run. for just a little bit more you can get so much more power and $200 is the price-to-performance sweet spot. Just save your money until you can comfortably afford the 380.

I don't know much about hardware comparability but I purchased a EVGA GTX960 and plugged it in but all I got was LENOVO on the screen and the CPU/motherboard appears to not have liked it so I returned the 7450 back to the slot and it's working... It could be many things but in your opinion, the 380 should be compatible to my hardware, or?

The 380 is somewhat better than the 960. The 380 should be plenty compatible. I looked up the computer you purchased and took a look at the motherboard and you should have no problem using the GPU. I'm guessing that the reason the 960 didn't work is because you forgot to uninstall the AMD drivers first.
