Hi Guys!

Below is my current setup:

AMD A4-5300
Deepcool Gammaxx 200
Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-S1
Sapphire R7 250X 1GB DDR5
Kingston HyperX Fury 8GB DDR3 1866MHz
Seagate 250GB + 500GB HDD
FSP Hexa+ 550
Windows 7 Ultimate
Cooler Master K280

I am thinking of upgrading my CPU, as the A4 and Trinity line is a bit outdated already. I am thinking of upgrading to Kaveri A8 or A10, or Athlon II X4 (although it's hard to find this in my area); switching to Intel is not as option since my MOBO is fairly new.

I use my PC for playing LOL and CSGO, as well as for downloading and watching movies/videos.

Given my setup above, what would be the most advisable CPU upgrade?

Here are some popular options for your motherboard:
UserBenchmark: Gigabyte GA-F2A68HM-S1 Compatible Builds

Note that the 7600 CPU is only 19% faster than your 5300

AMD A8-7600 APU vs A4-5300 APU
Userbenchmark Effective CPU Speed: 50.1% vs 42.1%
AMD A8-7600 APU - 338th / 899
AMD A4-5300 APU - 453rd / 899

I think the best CPU you can go to is the 760K (or the 860K) (no iGPU) and still only 30% faster than what you have:
AMD Athlon II X4 760K vs A4-5300 APU
Userbenchmark Effective CPU Speed: 54.8% vs 42.1%
AMD Athlon II X4 760K - 283rd / 899
AMD A4-5300 APU - 453rd / 899

I would save more money before upgrading.

Considering you already have a graphics card, so an iGPU is not a consideration, and the relative weakness of the FM2+ lineup anyhow, the only upgrade really WORTH doing, at all, is the 860k. That being said, an A10-7870 or 7890 is going to be a fairly decent improvement over what you have now but if you're going to spend money on an upgrade I'd really try to find a way to make it count.

What country/region are you in?

Hi darkbreeze!

I'm from the Philippines.

I am open to an iGPU, if it will yield a better result compared to my current CPU + R7-250x. I'm just a bit worried that my current CPU might not hold up in the near future, so I'm looking at other possible options. Mind you, I am not looking at a big margin of an upgrade; I just play LOL on medium settings. I just want a faster and better PC.

What is the maximum budget you can afford to invest, in Philippine pesos? I think you might also seriously consider getting an SSD at some point. That will certainly help in a lot of areas. It's not going to increase your fps, but loading screens, maps, levels, equipment, etc., will be substantially faster.

I'd be willing to shell out Php 5k, but that would be for the CPU only. But in your opinion, should I rather spend it on an SSD?
