Mouse stops working after a couple of hours, causes weird beeping noise

I have a Logitech G502 Proteus Core gaming mouse. Up until recently I've used it without trouble. However, as of late I've been able to play for about two or three hours before the mouse stops letting me click on anything and then starts emitting a beeping noise through my headphones (not from the speaker on the computer itself) whenever I so much as move it. It also lags horribly. When I try to unplug and replug it back in, it ceases responding entirely, to the point where LEDs are not coming on.

Shortly after I plug it back in, I also always get some kind of error reading, to paraphrase, "This USB device has malfunctioned, and Windows doesn't recognize it." I've noticed it happens more frequently when I'm playing 3D games (though not especially intensive ones, i.e. Counterstrike.)

The only thing that solves this is restarting the computer, whereupon the cycle begins again. Anyone have any ideas?

Solution
Try using the mouse on another computer and another mouse on yours. If the other (preferably gaming, drawing the same amount of power) mouse also fails the problem might be a bad USB port. If the mouse fails on another computer, it's just dead
