Hi everyone, yesterday i tried to install my wifi dongle because my dell optiplex 3010 sff doesnt have one. i dont have DSL on my new home thats why i bought my cpu with me to computer cafe near in my place to connect internet (rj45) and download the software for wifi dongle. suddenly i accidentally bump my cpu and it fall in its place (not that hard fall). when i tried to press the power of my cpu, i can see that my computer is not working that well because its too lag when opening window logo and also desktop. i click on steam and counter strike global offensive (the letters on the game is not clear, its blurred that you cant understand what it says) then i tried connecting to a game it is not responding. i also tried to open google chrome and avast anti virus its not opening. i tried to click on images on desktop it works then i tried to reset again.

Hey there, mjmjmj09.

What do you mean by saying that you brought your CPU to the computer cafe? Are you referring to the computer case?
If this is the case and if the computer was working, it is really possible for you to have damaged the HDD. Try connecting the drive to a different computer to see if it's recognized and if you can recover your files. You could also give data recovery software a go: http://www.tomshardware.co.uk/forum/id-1644496/lost-data-recovery.html & http://pcsupport.about.com/od/filerecovery/tp/free-file-recovery-programs.htm.
If you don't need to recover data, I'd recommend that you download the HDD manufacturer's diagnostic tool and test the drive for errors and bad sectors if possible.

Hope that helps. Please...

Have you remove also the gpu and the RAM to reset this hardwares? You need to disconnect in the slots and install it again properly. Try to power-up with-out the hdd, see if the display is blurd, if the display is blurd or garbage meaning your gpu is the problem. There are tendency also during post the display is normal but when the windows is loading startup it will blurd. Try to replace a good gpu and check also your monitor screen. But if after you reset the hardwares I said, then its normal consider your HDD have downloaded a files which cause the errors. Check with it using virus scanner or else try to uninstall the files in your computer.

It sounds like the drive is really having issues. Please follow my suggestions from the previous post on how to try and recover data. You could also try accessing the drive via Ubuntu Live USB, to see if it's properly recognized and if you can get to to your files. If your data is really important - a data recover company might be the better choice.

Other than that, you could contact the computer manufacturer's customer support and see if you can RMA it.
