I have a Samsung UE32H5000 TV.

The optical output of the TV only outputs stereo sound.

Therefore, I need to use HDMI if I want 5.1 output.

I have a set a Logitech Z-506 5.1 PC speakers which does not have HDMI input.

I want to connect the the speakers to the TV.

I am aware I'll need to buy some components (converters/adapters etc.).

What do you think I'll need to make this work?

Its surprisingly tough to do this, mainly because there are very few devices these days (other than PC motherboards ) designed with analog 6 channel outputs.

However you can use this:

http://www.amazon.com/Generic-Digital-Multi-channel-Surround-Decoder/dp/B00PGVG6WY

Then you will need 3 of these:

http://smile.amazon.com/Belkin-F8V235-12-3-5mm-cable-12-Feet/dp/B000067RBT/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1458569702&sr=8-1&keywords=rca+to+3.5mm+y

Connect the first Y to center and subwoofer, then plug it into the Green jack. The second Y to front left and right, that goes to the black jack, and then the 3rd to rear left and right, that goes to the orange jack.

Then you will need an additional HDMI cable to output from the box back to the TV...
