Hey There , actually i am having a problem with my pc , and that is my Processor fan is running over 4000 rpm but the temperature of my cpu is normal. i have bought a new hsf unit and its thermal paste is pre applied so will it take some time to settle or something like that.. i am facing this issue after installing a new hsf unit. my idle fan is speed is 4400+ , while playing games it reaches upto 6500 rpms, my cpu is neat and clean. everything is fine just the processor fan rpm is worrying me . please help :ouch:

Solution
Your fan's speed is determined by how quickly your motherboard tells it to spin, and will be based on what fan speed profile you choose in bios.

Maybe a bit stupid to ask but did you plug the cpu fan in the Case Fan or the Cpu Fan slot? And which processor do you have? If it is an AMD I woul'd recommend a Cooler Master Hyper 212 x/evo
