Hey guys so I'm upgrading my gpu from a gt 440 to either gtx 750ti or a 2nd hand gtx 660. I will be buying a new psu and chassis when I get the 660 and change nothing if I get the 750. The catch is that the 750 costs R2400 (ZAR) and the 660 costs R1200. So what should I do?
Thanks!

Solution
A GTX750ti is a considerable boost in capability over a GT440.

Even a GTX750 would be a nice jump that could cost you less.

If you need to buy a psu, for a GTX660, I would avoid a Coolermaster unit, their quality is variable.

As to fit, it depends more on the case than the motherboard.
GTX750 comes in a low profile version that will fit some slim cases.

Those are the two I will be buying. Also would the 660 fit on an Intel dh67bl micro atx motherboard?
Oh yeah the reason I'm upgrading my psu its a mercury 450w psu
Thanks

Yes the plug and play is attractive... So would the 750 be as future proof as the 660 and also I saw a 4gb version of the 750 any thoughts?

Okay so say in GTA V the extra 2gb won't get in handy? Also do you have an idea what the preformance would be on the 750 because I watched vids but don't always trust them.

VRAM has become a marketing issue.
My understanding is that vram is more of a performance issue than a functional issue.
A game needs to have most of the data in vram that it uses most of the time.
Somewhat like real ram.
If a game needs something not in vram, it needs to get it across the pcie boundary
hopefully from real ram and hopefully not from a hard drive.
It is not informative to know to what level the available vram is filled.
Possibly much of what is there is not needed.
What is not known is the rate of vram exchange.
Vram is managed by the Graphics card driver, and by the game. There may be differences in effectiveness between amd and nvidia cards.
And differences between games.
Here is an older performance test comparing 2gb with 4gb vram.
http://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Video-Card-Performance-2GB-vs-4GB-Memory-154/
Spoiler... not a significant difference.
A more current set of tests shows the same results:
http://www.techspot.com/review/1114-vram-comparison-test/page5.html

And... no game maker wants to limit their market by
requiring huge amounts of vram. The vram you see will be appropriate to the particular card.

Okay thanks for the links bro so I suppose I should get the new 750ti then. The exact one is the Evga gtx750ti 2gb http://www.landmarkpc.co.za/store/evga-gtx750-02gp43751kr-nvidia-geforce-graphics-card-p-11554.html
Would ypu suggest another one like gigabyte or asus maybe?
I know I ask alot of questions but I appreciate it.
