My gtx 960 GPU isn't being detected by device manager or driver install software

My motherboard is an MSI H16M-P31/W8

The fans are spinning and I know it's plugged in but I can't get a signal from it when I plug it in to my monitor

Solution
Well, if device manager doesn't see it then you certainly won't get a signal from it. The big question is why device manager won't see it. You can try re-seating it. It's only got one x16 graphics slot so you can't have it in the wrong slot. And the basic questions:
Did it ever work in that machine? Will it work in another machine? Will any other graphics card work in this machine?
