So I have a Benq Xl2410T ( 120 Hz ), I'm getting an BenQ XL2411Z ( 144 hz ).. Both connections are the same, VGA/DVI/HDMI.. My 980 ti Hybrid only has, one DVI-D, 1 HDMI, and 3 display ports.

So I'd use one for DVI-D, and obviously HDMI cannot do anything above 60hz, what type of adapater would I need? DVI-D To Display port, or Display Port to DVI-D? I'm seriously havign a brain fart.

If you are using two GPUs(not linked) you can run multiple refresh rates. If both monitors are plugged up to the same GPU... your max refresh rate will be 120Hz. You may have games that report 300FPS+ etc... but the monitors will be limited to 120Hz refresh rates(whichever monitor is slowest).

My 27" 1440p/144hz monitor is running AT 144hz, my other 1080 120hz monitor is running AT 120hz? Their both not 120hz.. Either way I just wanna run my main monitor at 144hz, and my second one at 120hz. But I'm just asking which adapter I needs.

You need two GPU's to do that, and not in SLI\XFire. Really not trying to rain on your parade.... don't shoot the messenger!

A GPU can only output one refresh frequency at a time. It doesn't have the circuitry to vary this number by output port. It will output at the rate of the slowest monitor connected to it. In the configuration you are attempting, you will end up with (2) 120Hz monitors if you are not limited by the output specification such as your HDMI 60Hz observation.

I don't understand, in the original post you say you have one 120 Hz monitor, and you're planning on getting a 2nd monitor that is 144 Hz. Then you say you already have both and are currently using both of them. So which one is it? If you already have them both running fine, what's the problem?

"So I have a Benq Xl2410T ( 120 Hz ), I'm getting an BenQ XL2411Z ( 144 hz )"
"I currently have a 144hz monitor running, and a 120 both are at max refresh rate"

YES. I have a 27" 1440p/144hz that I'm returning for the Benq, the one 27" I have now has display port which is what im uising on my 980 ti, and my other monitor Im using DVI-D. The monitor Im getting wont have display port.

Is this a Nvidia limitation maybe? I have no issues running 2 monitors at different refresh rates on my HD7950.

To run the 2 monitors with out DP connections you will need a DP to DualLink DVI adapter, most likely an active adapter too.

So I went looking for my source material that steered me into this debacle(something I read a couple years ago) and haven't been able to find anything to support my argument, at least with digital outputs. I've been running different flavors of dual monitor setups for years now and believe the point I was trying to illustrate is more rooted in pairing digital outputs on the GPU with analog outputs.

I will humbly withdraw my concerns and concede that most likely this is not an issue with multiple digital outputs on the GPU being used, simultaneously. That being said, no idea why you would need two high refresh rate monitors unless you plan on mirroring the screens.

Okay so, with my old monitor I'm running a DVI-D, and with my new one it has same outputs, so can you link an adapter I could use?
