This is gonna be a little long but if you can take the time to read this and maybe give a reply it would be greatly appreciated :)

Hey guys I own a Dell Inspiron 15 7000 which I bought for light - medium gaming, some video editing, and the other usual stuff - and I got this at the very beginning of the year.

I've recently been questioning if my laptop is using its GPU (Nvidia GTX 960M 4GB) while gaming and video editing ever since a driver rollback. (I play LoL, Minecraft, Warface, asfor video editing I use Powerdirectir 14)

The day the laptop arrived I installed Warface and was extremely happy with the smoothness I was getting, I think it was running at around 70 fps on maxed out settings at 1080p. The next day I downloaded Powerdirector 14 which got me a ton of bsod's saying something about "kernel security check failure". After days of trying to fix it (driver updates, resets, etc) I brought the laptop to a service place, since this was beyond what I knew, and they came to the conclusion that it was a driver conflict and they roll backed the driver to 10.18.13.5382 from Dell (link below).

After that Powerdirector worked fine, but is a bit stuttery and also Warface became choppy. I didn't install Minecraft before sending it in to the service place but after installing it I noticed it was running on my integrated graphics.

That's my story, any advice is greatly appreciated. I was thinking about trying out the newest driver but I'm afraid I'll mess up the laptop.

Well I updated the driver to the latest, and the laptop seems stable. The games are working better (from Nvidia's game optimization settings), and Powerdirector is fine.

I guess this thread can be closed, and thanks for the reply hang-the-9, I'll just choose your answer as the solution.
