i'm building a new PC and when i finally decided to go with the new i3 6100 skylake processor i came across this SATA Express port in the motherboard i was planning to buy. it has 1 SATA Express port and 6 SATA 6GB/S ports. so my question is can i plug in my normal 1TB internal hard drive (7200rpm) into this SATA express port. is it compatible? if so will i see any noticable difference in speed
than if i'd connected to the normal SATA 6gb/s port. or is SATA Express only used for high speed SSD storage devices? please explain in simple language

Solution
You can plug into either of the 2 sata 3.0 ports that form part of the SATA Express port but it offers you no advantage with a regular drive. The ports are backward compatible so you can use them as normal ports.
