I have a bit of an odd problem;
I have a dinosaur app (CNC controller software) that refuses to recognize the LPT physical printerport software license keydongle in any OS other than windows XP for some odd reason.
I would also like to do some gaming while that old fossil is running.
Is there a way to run XP as 'genuine' as possible so the keydongle will work, while having simultaneous access to a gaming capable windows 7?
Visualizing probably wouldn't work? Seeing as virtual boxes generally have no proper gaming capability, nor a genuine LPT hookup (they simulate them)?
The only viable method I can think of myself, is looking for a mini client PC (that still has LPT..) to run solely winXP plus the one app, and just VNCing into it from a win7 main machine.
Any ideas?
