I have the pre-amp, tried to connect to CD port, no sound. This receiver has no AUX port and supports HDMI for most of the connections. Please help.

Solution
It should not matter which analog input you use. Make sure that the CD input has the audio assigned to analog (it could be set for digital audio) in the input set up menu of the receiver. If that doesn't help then there could be a problem with the phono preamp or the turntable. To see if the turntable is the problem you can connect it directly to the CD input. It will be very low in volume and sound lousy but you should be able to hear something,
