Hello

My motherboard is an old Asus P5VD2-MX SE

Bought a cheap used E6400 Dual core with 4 pin cpu fan
But the motherboard has 3 pin cpu fan connector, and i heard you're not able to change fan speed in this case.

Is there anything i can do about it? It's blowing like crazy (2300 rpm) while my temp is only 30* celcius.

Bios has only 2 opions at CPU fan speed settings. 2300 RPM/Ignored

Solution
You are correct; it can't be adjusted on that entry-level motherboard. They saved a few pennies. If it really annoys you, then buy a better cooler with a very quiet and low-RPM fan.

Aight thanks buddy, i went for a more creative solution and glued a 80mm fan i had left to the heatsink, problem solved.
