simple question :) both are gold rated and has the same wattage, but do any of you have a preference?? or have had great experiences with either of these? maybe you would suggest a third PSU!!

How do I know this? It's on the Superflower Leadex Gold 550W review @Tomshardware - the unit the 550 G2 is based off. With that, the 550 G2 does not even meet the ATX specification for hold-up time (time from AC power loss to PSU shut down), which is 17ms. It gets 12ms, that is with the voltages far out of spec, so this is really poor performance in this aspect.

To conclude, if you want only high-quality caps in your PSU and you also want to avoid the SF-550F14MG's problem with its power-good signal, then stick with EVGA's 550 G2, which uses only Japanese caps and, although it has a lower than 16ms hold-up time, its power-good signal is inline with the actual hold-up time.

It just has a low hold up time, which isn't so bad compared to the Super Flower unit not being able to deliver 12v during hold up.
