My friend needs a video editing build. He will be using the Adobe suite mostly. He would like to also play but that is secondary to his editing.

Requirements:
32GB RAM
Specs that make sense for video editing
Under $1500 - do not break this point
Already have Windows, office, monitor and kb+mouse

Thanks guys!

- Newest generation CPU
- Overclockable
- Options for both SLI and Crossfire X
- 32GB of very fast RAM
- High performance HDD
- Huge 512GB, high performance SSD
- Excellent GPU for gaming and to aid rendering
- Highly efficient, quality PSU, with room for adding another GPU without issues
- Discrete case, which I also think has noise-cancelling qualities.
- Within budget.

Thanks for the initial build.
I just got him access to a 5930K for $200. if we factor that into the build I'm sure the Mobo will go up but there will be the extra $100 saved from the i7 cpu.
After speaking with him about it he preferred a 240cm closed loop liquid cooler with this new CPU and a full tower case or something like the Air 540's. Lastly he wanted to future proof it as much as he could so the RAM needs to be 2x16GB and the board needs to support 128GB RAM as a maximum.

Thanks again for the help.

You're welcome.
Future-proofing can be a slippery thing to chase however. There's just increasing diminishing returns, the higher up you go.
It's impressive how you got him access to such a cheap CPU.
