It`s not as easy as you think.

First of all with most laptops only two memory slots are provided for So dimm type memory.
And secondly if you look at the brand name of your laptop and its model number you can find this out.

Usually from the spec sheet for the laptop via the vendor of the laptop.
It will state the maximum amount of memory you can fit to the laptop in regard to capacity.
And it will also state what density of memory populated on each memory stick.

Each of the provided memory slots of the motherboard will work with in size or capacity.

For example: you should check if each memory slot of the laptop is able to support and read a memory stick of 4gb.
If it states the maximum memory configuration can be 8gb with both of the memory slots provided of the laptop.
It will also state the maximum speed rating of the memory the laptop will work with.

It`s something you can google yourself for information.

i asked the vendor and google it...both told me that the laptop supports maximum of 8gb ram..so thought of adding 4gb to the existing 2gb...but neither thE vendor nor the internet could help me in clearing out whether DDR3L ram can be added or it will only support DDR3 ram?
SO please clear out this confusion between DDR3L and DDR3. And also tell me the frequency range and subsequently whether the ram in the link is supported or not?
