Hello,

I've been experiencing some strange issues the last few days in relation to my computer. After a few hours of light use (usually just netflix and most recently using Microsoft Excel), my computer seems to crash. I have a dual monitor setup, and one screen is completely whited out, and the other displays nothing but a tan screen.

After the first instance, I monitored both my CPU and GPU temps to check if any of them spiked at all, but they were both under 30 C the whole time.

Here is a list of all the hardware:

- Motherboard: ASUS ROG Maximus Hero VII
- CPU: Intel i7 4790k Devil's Canyon
- GPU: EVGA GeForce GTX 970 w/ ACX 2.0+
- RAM: G.Skill TridentX Series 4x8GB sticks DDR3 2400
- SSD: Samsung 850 Pro 256 GB
- HDD: WD Black 1TB 7200 RPM

Any help would be greatly appreciated. I use this computer for so much of my schoolwork that I can't risk losing everything completely.

Thank you.

Solution
Did you manage to get it fixed?
If not, download a program called DisplayDriverUninstaller, thereafter run Command Prompt in Admin, and type in msconfig, when the dialog box pops up, select the startup tap and click safe boot, restart your computer. When logged on within safeboot, run msconfig once again, and select normal startup so that the next time you boot, you I'll be in normal windows. When in safeboot, run DDU and uninstall your nvidia drivers completely, including deleting your nvidia folders, this will allow a CLEAN installation of drivers. Reinstall the latest driver when rebooted and see if if the problem persists.

Give this a try:
Go into BIOS settings and locate your PCI settings, disable iGPU multi-monitor, given that both your monitors are connected to your GTX 970.
My computer used to switch off everynight whilst in sleep, this solution solved the problem for me.
