Hi All

I have just fresh installed Windows, and i'm in the process of optimising Windows before getting into the reinstallation of all my software etc. Foremost I am considering updating my Motherboards BIOS. Currently its using the BIOS it was shipped with. There have been numerous revisions, the latest of which is 1.9.

In light of the fresh install I'm in the vein of thought that I should get everything up to date. BIOS is a bit trickier, as generally I have read that 'if it aint broke' its not worth the risk. Is updating BIOS really that much of a risk? Can anyone attest to updating their BIOS, on this this model motherboard specifically. I know its not necessary, but i'd imagine the updated BIOS would address issues that I may not even have encountered, it would be good to know that my system was in its prime.

If anyone out there has updated their BIOS, I would also be really interested in hearing how its done, I cant seem to find anything relating to this motherboard specifically. The manual has a brief overview of how to flash the BIOS if it has failed, so I wonder is the process the very same anyway?

Update BIOS code probably means that it was updated to include support for more processors.
Memory Compatibility - If your memory is already compatible, there's no need for this.
Updated ME - Not sure what this is.
Enhanced MSI Fast Boot Function - Fast Boot is already running, so it may just be a microsecond faster with this enhancement. Not concerned.

My take would be "Meh - Don't need it".

Amongst all the details on the previous updates, the new BIOS versions have addressed;

- Updated BIOS code.
- Improved memory compatibility.
- Updated ME.
- Enhanced MSI fast boot function

Would these mentioned above not be reason enough to update.

I guess I find it hard to comprehend that I shouldn't do it, if it is an upgrade to the existing.

The last thing I want to do is brick my machine...
