Hi everyone,
I'm considering delid my G3258 for a higher overclock, currently i'am at 4ghz (the room temperature is 33 degrees and i'am on stock cooler).
I saw this video in youtube an hour ago, the Vietnamese man in the video told he could delid the cpu by submerging it into acetone?? He said it will dissolve the glue which bonds the IHS and PCB together, the glue will became dilated and then he could cut through the glue easier than we did with razor and vice method. I forgot to mention he submerged it in around 30 minutes.
Link to the video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ekoYWgrKCfE
Have anyone tried this yet??

Solution
The better of my two G3258s gets to 4.5Ghz on the stock cooler, safely. The other one, only 4.2Ghz.

a. Try harder
b. You lost the silicon lottery and you cannot get much more.

I fully understand that delid may ruin the cpu, but I wish to try out as oher people did this and I see they hardly ever fail. The risk should be smaller when using chemicals because it won't leak into the core. I'm afraid of physical delid because it looks terrible to the cpu, hitting the cpu, bending it or sractch it aren't very good.
Buying a 40$ cooler isn't a good option for me as I am saving to buy a oscilloscope for my study.
I forgot to mention that I hate Intel push pin mounting method so I removed the push pin and install screw instead.
