My friend wants to upgrade his computer, which is very old, we originally planned on building a brand new computer from scratch, but decided otherwise, due to the high prices. Our budget is currently at 200$. Unfortunately his motherboard is EXTREMELY old (I think it came out in around 2004-2007) And only supports LGA 775 (I never even knew it exists untill I examined his PC) I think I will need a new mobo, please give me any recommedations that are cheap, any GPU's or any CPU's, he does not plan on doing heavy gaming, just basic games (and the outdated ones) like Warframe and plans on getting at least above 25 FPS on average. Any simple but efficient GPU is good , if you can recomend anything to me that would be super helpful. He will only need 4 GB RAM, because he has a low resolution monitor (1280X720) We will probably not need to change the PSU because we are using a low end card anyways, I think it is 300 watts though.

Solution
the power supply should be replaced with old mb it may be an at power supply and not an atx. also newer power supply wil be at a higher atx rev then his. the newer units are digital because of how low voltage haswell and the newer intel cpu run at. also check the hard drive and cd rom drives if there ide (40 pin thick cable) you wont be able to reuse them all new mb are all sata.

Price breakdown by merchant: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4ngysY/by_merchant/

CPU: Intel Pentium G4400 3.3GHz Dual-Core Processor ($58.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Motherboard: Asus H110M-A Micro ATX LGA1151 Motherboard ($58.99 @ SuperBiiz)
Memory: Crucial 4GB (1 x 4GB) DDR4-2133 Memory ($16.99 @ SuperBiiz)...
What are the top three things he wants to do with the PC?

What is the make and model of his PSU?

What is his current CPU? If it's a lower end core2 duo or a pentium D you might be able to bump it up without changing the mobo. Some of the 775 chips (core2 quad 9650+) are still fairly beefy.

OS - Vista
I have no idea what the mobo is
I GB RAM
probably 250-340 PSU (Definitely not higher or lower)
He has an E5200 though

I will check them out soon, I am visiting his house soon so I will specify his specs tomorrow. Thanks for the help though I will get back to you

Thank you for the suggestions, I will show them to him, I doubt he will accept, but its worth a shot, he will only be playing at 1280X720 so I don't think he will need this much overkill, nevertheless I will show him. Thanks again.

If you download and run cpu-Z it will identify the motherboard.

The E5200 is not so bad.
1gb is not good at all.

I think with your budget, you could be able to run a GTX750ti that does not need an aux power connector. That would be about $110.

I would also replace the ram with a 2 x 4gb kit which should be about $25.

Lastly, a Samsung 240gb evo will do wonders for everyday quickness, that will be about $85
