I want to be able to play AAA games like Dark Souls on a decent-good setting. What would I need to upgrade so I can do that? The current specs are.. System: AMD FX-4130 3.80GHz 4-Core (3.9GHz Boost) | AMD 760G | 8GB DDR3-1600 PC3-12800 | 1TB HDD | Genuine Windows 10 64-bit
Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GT 720 1GB GDDR3 | 24X DVD±RW Dual-Layer Drive

Definitely need a GPU upgrade. To be honest, even an R7 370 or GTX 950 would probably give you much better performance. However, if you have the budget for it, you should probably consider either a GTX 970 or an R9 380/380X. Much more VRAM (4GB -- even for the 970 & it's "3.5 GB" issue) & more horsepower means you can move up to 1080p resolutions with ease.

That being said, 1) make sure your PSU can handle the juice. Make sure it has PCI-e power connectors on it, or at least is of high enough quality & wattage, to handle the better GPUs. 2) Consider also replacing your CPU. Depending on your motherboard, you can probably handle an FX-8320/-8350/-8370, which will double your CPU cores & potentially help you out on CPU-intensive games.

GT 720 is just not cut out for modern AAA titles, even if your CPU support these games, the GPU bottlenecks it. You can do light gaming with slightly older gen, for anything better, you'll need a GPU upgrade. I can recommende some.

It's a new build. I originally bought it just to make music. I don't want to spend much more than $200-400 or so
