As the title states. I can fix the constant restart, I just flick the switch on my PSU to off and I reset the CMOS. However, this prevents my RAM from being able to run at 1600mHz and instead resets itself to 1333. I doubt anything is wrong with the RAM as it works fine after I reset the CMOS but this problem is really annoying.

Running an i7-2700k
Sapphire Pure Black Hydra P67 mobo
previously 12GB (3x4) of Corsair Vengeance Black DDR3 RAM, upgraded to 16GB (4x4).

The mobo is compatible with up to 16GB of RAM.

Solution
Does the tri kit work by itself? If so go into BIOS and raise the DRAM voltage + 0.05, save, exit, shutdown, then try adding the odd stick and see what happens

One kit is "triple channel" while the new is "single channel" Now that the 4 slots are being used, the bios is probably trying to make it work as dual channel kits of 2+2. Even if the sticks are exactly the same in tech specs, they aren't part of the same kit, product number is different for the same reason.
