Hi, I'm deciding on whether to buy a WD Blue 3TB Drive for around £80, or a WD Black 3TB Drive for around £120. Is there any major differences between the two? I know that the Blue only spin at 5400rpm, but does that make much of a difference? Also, is the price difference worth it?
I will be using them to play games like GTA V, CS-GO, Garry's Mod. I will also be using Photoshop and Power Director 14 Ultimate. As well as storing all my movies and documents etc. I will be using an SSD for my OS, also have you got any good options for a 240GB SSD? Thanks

Solution
I think it is the green that is 5400rpm. It will be merging with WD blue, so which speed depends on the model.
Here is a good article on the WD rainbow.

They like the WD red.
A hard drive is good for bulk storage, like videos mainly because the cost per gb is less.
Today, ssd prices are down a bunch.
Use at least a 240gb ssd for windows and anything that benefits from performance.
I like Samsung EVO for reliability and performance.
Today, you may find that a 500gb ssd is not out of the question.

Hi, thanks for that. But does the rpm speed make a lot of difference? Also, will the extra rpm's make more noise?

What will this drive be used for?
OS, or a secondary drive?

It will be used as a secondary drive. The OS will be on the SSD as mentioned.
