Pretty silly question, I replaced my PSU after my last one blew and bought myself one of Corsair's RMi series, it came with a PSU monitor sort of gimmick, I know this software isn't too accurate but it gives me a peace of mind due to the anxiety of my older power supply almost taking my whole system with it.

The question is: Do you combine the wattage of Power In and Power Out? Because if not, 250Watts during a graphical and CPU stress test seems very forgiving for my components and I'm not going to complain.

Solution
no you dont combine them.
Power in is what you are taking from the wall.
Power out is what the system is currently using
Power out/power in will tell your your current efficiency.

yes most people don't realize how little power their systems actually use.

List your specs please.
