Low GPU usage on Need For Speed

Hi guys,

Trying to play the new NFS on my system, but am having performance troubles. No one else on reddit (when I posted there) are having troubles with similar systems to mine, so I'm wondering what is going on.

I have noticed that my GPU usage never goes past ~75% when playing on ultra settings (no Vsync), and my CPU never goes past ~65% usage.

Running at 1080p, trying to hold a solid 60fps, but doesn't seem to be able to. Like I said before, everyone else who replied to me on reddit were able to hold a solid 60 no matter where they were, with 980Ti's.

Performance seems normal on other games, so it looks like it's just a problem with NFS.

Full specs are: i7 6700k, GTX 980Ti (latest drivers, 364.51), and 16GB ram.

Solution

It just means that it wont boost to infinity. Without any perfcap reasons it would just boost farther and farther. :p
As long as your clock is normal for your card vrel isn't an issue at all. That leads to a different issue, though I'm not sure what that would be as NFS is fairly new, and I don't own any nvidia cards at all to help out with.

I guess you may have to wait for someone with a bit more knowledge on the topic to come in, sorry I couldn't help more!
That machine should be maxing the game pretty well. If you download GPU-z and you go to the sensors tab what does perfcap say? It should have a code for voltage, temps, or something like that to tell you where performance is being left behind.

Honestly it could just be a bug with a new game, but I hope that it's easy to fix.
