Mainstream support for windows 7 ended on January 13, 2015. So your OS is like to get expired like windows XP in no time. Since they give windows 10 upgrade free, I see that as a viable option.

You can download the updates by google. Look for the KB number of the failed updates and search for them.

what you want to do is turn off windows update service that running and then clean out the folder that windows update uses. then reboot and let windows download the updates again that failed.
there are video and print outs on google on how to clean up windows update folder.
with windows 10 free update you only have a set time to get it for free before it expires.

10 is OK... I run it on most system... Much better than 8.1
However, there are some hoops to jump through with it. It is actually 2 upgrades. From current OS to Win10 then at some time later, from Win10 to Win 10 update 1511. That is why I am saying no now for current system users. If you are good w/ managing system images and have patients, go for it.
