Thordas :
Hi there
Im looking for a setup for a workstation for my office. All I use is the internet and office suite and lite QB but I want it to be fast. I want an SSD drive only no need for more then 128GB ssd , I also would rather to have windows 7 then windows 10 unless someone can convince me other wise.
no need for monitor or keyboard or mouse.
thxs in advance
Thordas,
It's possible to have very good performance with a dual core CPU if it has high single-threaded performance, high clock speed, using a good motherboard with M.2 support, and by using Intel HD 530 integrated graphics.
Here's a suggestion based on the i3-6100 and having a specification with a 240GB M.2 drive which costs only $10 more than the 120GB version. Everything I've produced on a computer since 1993 is only 74GB, but I have 1,000s of reference documents and media = 450GB. I don't keep the reference files on my Drive 1, but I do have them on Drive 1 while the project is active for quick access.

Ihe Intel HD 530 integrated graphics has quite good 2D performance and surprisingly good 3D. On an i3-6100 / ASRock H170 Pro system, the Passmark 2D score is 881 and 3D is 1048. For comparison, I have a Quadro FX4800 1.5GB GPU in a Dell Precision T5400 used for 3D modeling and the 2D = 520 and 3D = 1097. And, by the way, a Quadro FX4800 new cost $1,300,..
Cheers,
